    Clinical Officer

    Job Description

    Oasis Healthcare Group Limited is a group of specialist Doctors working and operating across the country since 2010 under group-based practice model. We currently have facilities in the following counties: Kisii, Nyamira, Migori, Homa Bay, Siaya, Uasin-Gishu, Kitui, Nairobi, Kakamega, Busia and Bungoma. We are looking to fill the following positions with qualified and suitable individuals willing to join us at one of our facilities.

    General Description

    1. Attending to clients both on clinical matters like diagnosis amongst others.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Attend to the outpatients in the O.P Department, Wards and Casualty as the case may be and prescribe necessary medicines as available in stock and the required investigations.
    2. Whenever necessary, with the approval of Director of Clinical Services, carry out investigations and prescribe non-stock drugs.
    3. Issue Medical Certificate for sickness or fitness to join duty as per prescribed procedure.
    4. Assist Director of Clinical Services whenever called upon to do so for any patient or hospital related work.
    5. Attend to work with punctuality and dedication and not give room for any complaint from the patients.
    6. Report non-attendance,  late  attendance  or  any  other  misconduct  of  the  Staff  working  in his/her area to the immediate superior officer.
    7. Mentorship and supervision of clinical interns.
    8. Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
    9. Communicate effectively with patients and clients.
    10. Ensure that duties and functions are undertaken in a manner that prioritizes the safety and well-being of patients.
    11. Represent the department /profession/team at meetings and conferences as appropriate.
    12. Seek advice and assistance from the consultant/clinical director/employer with any assigned cases or  issues  that  prove  to  be  beyond  the  scope  and  professional  competence  in  line  with principles of best practice and clinical governance.

     Job Requirements 

    1. Diploma in Medicine and surgery
    2. Registered by clinical officers’ council.
    3. Ability to with minimum supervision.
    4. Ability to plan and deliver care in an effective and resourceful manner.
    5. Computer literate

    Receptionist

    Job Description

    General Description

    1. Receive, assist and direct patient in accessing the appropriate service or health care professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
    2. Provide general  assistance  to  the  practice  team  and  project  a  positive  and  friendly  image  to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.  

    Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Ensure an  effective  and  efficient  reception  service  is  provided  to  patients  and  any  other visitors  to  the    Acknowledge  a  patients  arrival  at  the  desk  within  2-3  minutes  of arriving, if the situation is unmanageable at the time due to the number of patients waiting then advice  the  patient  in  the  queue  you  will  assist  them  soonest  possible  and  call  for assistance.
    2. Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make follow-up appointments.
    3. Be aware of your surroundings and of patients in the waiting room: be in a position where you are able to note which client has not be served and direct them to the offices they need to visit.
    4. Be aware of which doctors and nurses are currently on duty and whether they have arrived. If the doctor has not arrived, call him/her and inform they are on duty and clients are waiting for them
    5. Receive and make telephone calls as required. Phone must be answered within 6 rings and no more. Take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery. Be polite and helpful at all times. If the patient’s behavior becomes unacceptably abusive refer the call to your supervisor. Don’t ever shout or respond in a rude manner to the patient.
    6. Advice patients of relevant charges for relevant medical services, show direction to the next station that the client would wish to be served.
    7. Ensure that all patients’ information is registered onto the computer system promptly and accurately. 8. It is the responsibility of the receptionist to ensure that client on the Outpatient register are transferred to the Inpatient register before close of business each day.
    8. It is the responsibility of the receptionist to ensure that pre-authorization are filled and ensure communication is  made  to  insurance  companies  for  pre-authorization  and  discharge  of patients,  immediately  you  are  in  receipt  of  either  an  inpatient  insurance  covered  clients pre-authorization or a discharge summary.

    Job Requirements

    1. A diploma  course  in  public  relation,  communication,  business  administration  or  any related course.
    2. Must have strong analytical and communication skills, excellent leadership qualities.
    3. Ability to work with minimum supervision.
    4. Honesty and integrity
    5. Good interpersonal skills
    6. Computer literate.

    Laboratory Technician

    Job Description

    Reporting to the Hospital Administrator, the successful candidate will help in running the lab on a daily basis.  

    Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Collect blood samples from patients.
    2. Practice proper patient identification, especially when working on hospital floors.
    3. Label vials with patient names and dates.
    4. Decipher the best method for drawing blood depending on the specific patient.
    5. Centrifuge blood samples, depending on if this is allowed in the state you are working in.
    6. Expect to work with a large number of patients varying in age and health status.
    7. Machines: it is the responsibility of the Lab Tech to run Quality control for all machines and reagents before any tests have been done to ensure validity and correctness of results.
    8. It is the responsibility of the Lab Tech to ensure confidentiality of all patients’ results at all times. The responsible lab tech will be held liable in cases of patients test results leaked to third parties.

    Job Requirements 

    1. A degree/diploma in Laboratory Sciences
    2. Registration and License by the body for Lab Technicians
    3. Ability to work with minimum supervision.
    4. Ability to analyze and evaluate data critically.
    5. Ability to prepare and keep budgets.
    6. Computer literate.

    Housekeeper

    General Description

    The job exists to provide housekeeping services including washing or dry-cleaning to clean, dry, press, cleaning and fold cloth-ware at the Hospital.

     Duties and Responsibilities

    Do daily cleaning of floors.

    1. Receive or collect used up linen for cleaning and record or classify it according to its sources from different wards and units of the hospital.
    2. Sort and classify and mark or tag dirty linen according to its source in the hospital, type, color and maintenance specifications for laundering in the hospital.
    3. Determine spotting procedures and proper solvents, detergents and other cleaning materials based on fabric and stain types in the laundry unit of the hospital.
    4. Pre-soak, sterilize, scrub, spot-clean, and dry contaminated or stained articles, using neutralizer solutions and portable machines in the hospital.
    5. Spray steam,  water,  or  air  over  spots  to  flush  out  chemicals,  dry  material,  raise  naps,  or brighten colors of garments in the laundry unit of the hospital.
    6. Load dry-cleanable  garments  into  washers  or  dry-cleaning  machines,  add  detergents  and other washing materials and start washing process in the laundry unit of the hospital.
    7. Use other cleaning procedures to clean and dry non-dry-cleanable linen in the laundry unit of the hospital.
    8. Operate machines  that  comb,  dry  and  polish  furs,  clean,  sterilize  and  fluff  feathers  and blankets, or roll and package towels in the laundry unit of the hospital.
    9. Remove items from washers or dry-cleaning machines and dry them on cloth lines to reduce excessive moisture in the laundry unit of the hospital.
    10. Collect cleaned and dried up linen, sort, press and pack according to its source and type, from different wards and units in the hospital.
    11. Perform other special or peculiar garment maintenance or garment care according to need or manufacturers’ specifications in the laundry unit of the hospital.
    12. Liaise with the tailors and dressmakers to repair and mend torn or replace missing parts of garments during and after laundering in the laundry unit of the hospital.

    Job Requirements

    1. Certificate in Housekeeping and Laundry services.
    2. Minimum of two years’ experience in a busy environment.
    3. Computer literacy
    4. Resilient and energetic/ self-motivated

    4. Have a Minimum of twelve (10) years practical and relevant working experience four (4) of which will be in a senior management/ leadership position;
    5. Be admitted to the Roll as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya;
    6. Be a Certified Public Secretary, Kenya (CPSK) or its equivalent;
    7. Be Member of the Law Society of Kenya and Institute of Certified Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK);

    Job Requirements 

    1. Have a minimum of ten years’ experience in healthcare management.
    2. Be a holder of a Master’s Degree in a relevant field from a university recognized in Kenya or an equivalent.
    3. Be a member of a recognized professional body;
    4. Have demonstrated high degree of professional competency, administrative capabilities, strategic initiatives and a thorough understanding of healthcare dynamics.
    5. Have served in a position of senior management for a period of at least five years.
    6. Demonstrate strategic leadership experience
    7. Be proficient in relevant computer applications.
