Chief Superintending Engineer (Electrical) at Nakuru County Government

Requirements for appointment

• Served in the grade of Senior Superintending Engineer (Electrical) or a comparable and relevant position in the Public Service for at least three (3) years;
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; 
• Been registered by the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya; 
• Current valid annual practicing license from the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya; 
• Corporate Membership with the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK); 
• Attended a Project Development and Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution; 
• Attended a Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
• Attended a Strategic Leadership Development Course lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution;
• Demonstrated general administrative ability required for direction, control and implementation of electrical services programmes; and
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Planning, controlling and coordinating electrical and electronic designs for County Government buildings and construction works;
• Repair and maintenance of electrical/electronic installations in County Government institutions;
• Checking and recommending for approval of engineering consultants' designs;
• Evaluating, certifying and recommending fee submitted by consultants;
• Co-ordination of improvements of electrical and electronic services;
• Lightning protection of County Government installations; 
• Coordination of design, supervision of construction and maintenance of County Government buildings, civil and other public works; and
• Responsible for research activities, administration and supervision of all staff working under him/her.
