    Clinical Research Intervention Specialist, Brain and Mind Institute

    Job Purpose/Summary 

    We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to coordinate the design, implementation, and delivery of culturally adapted dementia prevention interventions, including nutrition, physical exercise, cognitive training, and social engagement. The successful candidate will train facilitators, ensure fidelity to intervention protocols, and monitor participant engagement while troubleshooting challenges to achieve high-quality outcomes.

    The position aligns with the Institute’s mission to advance research, capacity building, and clinical excellence in mental and neurological health, contributing to impactful research outcomes that inform policy and practice.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities 

    • Coordinate and oversee the cultural adaptation, delivery, and monitoring of dementia prevention interventions while training facilitators, ensuring adherence to protocols, and optimizing participant engagement and outcomes.
    • Actively recruit participants using tailored strategies, ensure research sites are fully prepared with necessary logistics and infrastructure, and maintain accurate documentation of recruitment and setup activities.
    • Conduct interviews, surveys, and neuropsychological tests in compliance with ethical standards, and organize, secure, and systematically manage all collected data
    • Provide technical support to researchers and project staff, collaborate with team members to ensure project success, and maintain research equipment and tools effectively.
    • Prepare research reports, policy briefs, and presentations, contribute to drafting and publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and actively participate in conferences and scientific meetings.
    • Ensure strict adherence to ethical guidelines, institutional policies, and regulatory protocols while safeguarding participant confidentiality and promptly addressing ethical concerns.
    • Adapt to evolving project needs across all phases of the study, provide backup support to team members, and contribute flexibly to ensure project success.

    Educational Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as psychology, public health, sociology, or a related discipline.
    • Additional certifications or coursework in research methods, data analysis, or relevant areas are preferred but not mandatory.

    Relevant Experience

    • Minimum of 1-2 years in clinical studies, neurocognitive intervention design, or dementia research.
    • Experience in neuroscience and/or dementia research is essential.
    • Proven ability to culturally adapt health interventions and engage diverse populations.
    • Experience working in academic or research settings preferred.
    • Familiarity with participant recruitment procedures, data collection techniques, and research ethics.
    • Proficiency in using relevant software for data entry and analysis, such as SPSS, Excel, or Redcap.
    • Proficiency in English and Swahili language skills, writing, spoken.
