Gathering and verifying information on topical issues within the mandate of the Assembly;
Editing and dispatching the information for dissemination to the public and media under the guidance of a senior officer;
Coordinating all public relations-related activities including publishing of brochures, handbooks, flyers etc.
Coordinating and receiving non-VIP visitors to the County Assembly;
Updating the County Assembly website in liaison with the ICT department.
Preparing press releases, reacting to media stories and proactive media reporting through the available channels;
Arranging news conferences for essential announcements
Managing corporate social media platforms;
Any other relevant duty that may be assigned by from time to time.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade an officer must:
Have a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Mass Communication, Journalism, Corporate Communications, or any other relevant field;
Be proficient in use of computer applications;
Proficiency in sign language is an added advantage
Membership to Public Relations Society of Kenya or an equivalent professional body will be an added advantage.
