    Communication Videography Intern

    The Communications Media Intern will support the Innovation Pillar by documenting project activities through videography and photography, including initiatives such as AgriFin Digital Farmer 2, Weather and Climate Services (WCS), stories and articles as well as additional upcoming programs, and the work of the AgriFin Program Office in Nairobi.

    Working closely with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) team, the intern will play a key role in advancing program objectives through effective content capture and storytelling. The intern will report to and work under the guidance of the Communications Lead.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Support the creation of short-form videos, graphics, and visual assets for social media and event promotion across LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter, and Instagram.
    • Assist in developing engaging digital copy and captions for AgriFin program content.
    • Support the capture of high-quality video footage during field visits, events, interviews, and program activities.
    • Assist in editing and producing video content for digital platforms, reports, and presentations.
    • Provide support in storyboarding, scripting, and content planning for video production.
    • Assist with photography and the organization of a visual content library.
    • Support the setup, use, and basic maintenance of videography equipment, including cameras, lighting, and audio tools.
    • Provide support to the Communications and MERL teams in developing impactful and compelling stories.
    • Assist with post-production processes, including color correction, audio editing, and formatting for various platforms.
    • Support the organization and archiving of raw and edited footage for easy access and retrieval.
    • Assist in tracking social media performance and engagement metrics to inform content optimization and identify high-performing content.
    • Support efforts to ensure all content aligns with Mercy Corps branding and messaging guidelines in collaboration with the Communications team.
    • Maintain a high standard of professional and personal conduct that reflects positively on Mercy Corps and upholds its humanitarian mission.

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES

    • Contribute to brainstorming and ideation sessions by sharing ideas with the communications and development teams, supporting the packaging of photography and videography content while building critical thinking skills.
    • Support the amplification of program activities through written communication by assisting in the creation of original online content.

    KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in communication or any related field
    • Design and creating videos will be an added advantage.
