About Assignment
To support its lobby and advocacy effort, Hivos East Africa’s Green and Inclusive Energy (GIE) Program has been working with media partners such as Nukta Africa to increase the overall quality and quantity of renewable energy reporting by journalists. We believe that if well trained and/or mentored, journalists can make an integral contribution towards the adoption of green and inclusive energy by creating awareness and interest at grass-roots, national and regional level. In Tanzania, the program is currently implementing a Renewable Energy Journalism Fellowship together with Nukta Africa and Journalists for Environment Tanzania (JET). In Kenya, GIE has previously organized two trainings for community based journalists in Nanyuki and Eldoret.
Hivos East Africa seeks to recruit a qualified and experienced consultant for a 3-day training of community-based journalists in Kajiado County, Kenya. The workshops will be held from 15-17 April 2020 in Kajiado County.
