    Community Mobilizer – Global Fund HIV Project

    Major Responsibilities

    • Planning and implementation of Global Fund project activities
    • Ensure the implementation of the Global Fund Project at the sub county level. 
    • Strengthen community awareness and sensitization for improved HIV service delivery and use of 
    • HIV services by the communities in their sub counties
    • Ensure close partnership with communities to influence decision makers in uptake of HIV services;
    • Ensure that existing business processes, standards and guidelines related to HIV initiatives are effectively implemented within the communities;
    • Work closely with the Cluster manager and Global HIV Project Officer A, M&E in identification of existing gaps in HIV programming at the community level through information sharing avenues to handle project activities effectively. 
    • Ensure timely and appropriate utilization of budgeted resources for each sub county activities.
    • Data collection and monitoring as per Global Fund M&E standards
    • Continuously monitor Evidence Based Interventions sites and community groups including 
    • EBAN EBI facilitators, Community Volunteers and Peer Educators among others implementing initiatives on HIV 
    • Responsible for implementation, monitoring, evaluation, documentation and dissemination of 
    • promising practices for HIV interventions in the project area at the community level.
    • Convene and support the data collection meetings in the sub county by the EBAN EBI 
    • facilitators, Community Volunteers and the Peer Educators at the facility level. 
    • Compile activity reports and submit to the Project officer for review.
    • Build Capacity of community groups 
    • Mobilize community groups for trainings, EBAN EBI sessions and sensitizations and organize logistics within the sub county.
    • Build the capacity of partners including; EBAN EBI facilitators, Support groups of adolescent and 
    • young people, Men in High Risk, Opinion leaders; to enable them effectively intervene in the area of HIV. 
    • Take a lead in building community’s capacities in HIV and other health issues through trainings and review meetings
    • Support Structured Community Dialogue sessions with community level actors
    • Global Fund HIV project Documentation 
    • Document and share relevant deliverables for Global Fund Project in the sub County especially stories of impact and human-interest stories.
    • Maintain a depository of community reports, photos and videos related to the implementation of each Global Fund project activities
    • Support documentation and share best practices on HIV within the Sub county for sharing at the 
    • Sub county, county, regional and national levels

    Qualifications: Education/Technical Skills and Experience

    • Diploma in Nursing Sciences, clinical medicine, Public Health, Community Health and 
    • Environmental Heath. Degree in Nursing Sciences, Clinical Medicine, Public health, Community 
    • Health and Environmental health will be an added advantage.
    • At least 2-years’ experience in HIV programming 
    • Mandatory Experience in HIV Programming focusing on PMTCT, Treatment, Care and Support 
    • (TCS), Men in High Risk, and Discordant Couples. 
    • Computer proficiency in use of MS Office ((Excel, word, PowerPoint etc) 
    • Experienced in data collection and documentation of projects
    • Have local partnership engagement, public relations and communication skills
    • Experience working in Nairobi County is an added Advantage
