    Supervisor of Business Support

    Responsibilities

    • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
    • Acts as an advocate to raise awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks, and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.
    • Provides leadership, planning, and consultation to subordinates, executives, and peer management in the successful alignment of assigned department resources to ensure achievement of operational priorities and initiatives, integrating priorities within organizational strategies to ensure that department's purpose is fulfilled.
    • Contributes to or prepares and administers the annual budget and departmental expenses, ensuring accountability for on-time completion of deliverables based on department objectives, service level agreements, and other Compassion standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory and board policies.
    • Selects manages and develops assigned staff, establishing goals and objectives, coaching and managing performance, including discipline, motivation, and annual reviews; supports continuous learning and development that enhances individual performance and organizational capability.
    • Supervises staff that proofread records, documents, forms, and other correspondence and often schedules large and complex meetings, records meeting minutes, coordinates travel, welcomes and hosts visitors, and prepares agendas and itineraries.
    • Provides supervision and client service such as answering questions, explaining processes, and communicating complex or detailed information as well as, overseeing the creation, tracking, and reporting for the department or workgroup.
    • May supervise support staff that often communicate with staff in other teams, workgroups, or international offices to facilitate the processing of information or work product, follow up on accuracy and process compliance, and ensure clear understanding between functions on strategic issues.
    • Works through subordinate support staff to ensure the ordering of supplies or services, arrangement for shipping or transportation, or provision of other logistical services in accordance with standard practices and policies.
    • May provide notary services as required.
    • Supervises staff who perform a variety of general support work such as answering phones, entering and retrieving electronic data, or sorting and distributing mail.
    • Manage office vehicle fleet, purchasing, and service contracts including relationships with external suppliers oversee facility utilization, maintenance, and cleanliness.

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Procurement, Business Management, or in a related field.
    • Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) is an added advantage.

    Experience

    • Five years of relevant experience working in this or a related field.

    Licenses and Certifications

    • KISM Supplies Practitioner’s License
    • Equivalent education, training, and/or certification may be substituted for experience and education shown above
