    Consultant – Organization of Infodemic Management Workshops

    The aim of the next WHO infodemic management technical conference is to define what dimensions of trust are relevant in an infodemic, identify the factors that influence them, and how to reliably measure related outcomes. The conference will bring together a multidisciplinary team of health scientists and public health decision-makers to provide context on research related to trust and address metrics development, evaluation and study design. 

    Deliverables

    Task 1 :Technical definition and organization of the conference

    • Develop an agenda, with session plans, related background documents and objectives of each session
    • Identify speakers and their contributions and process their invitations to the conference and preparation of their interventions
    • Design interactive sessions towards discussion outcomes and identify and manage facilitators of breakout sessions as needed
    • Conduct literature reviews to identify participants to be invited to the conference, and maintain an invitation list
    • Organize meetings and facilitate coordination of stakeholders for the meeting, within and outside of WHO
    • Prepare technical documents, presentations and briefs for other events on infodemic management.
      • Deliverable 1: Conference agenda with suggested speakers and session plans, expected by 31 July 2022
      • Deliverable 2: List of participants, expected by 30 August 2022
      • Deliverable 3: Research and draft background documents and review background documents drafted by collaborators, expected by 30 September 2022

    Task 2: Facilitate the organization of the conference

    • Deliverable 4: Facilitate the technical organization of the on-site conference, technical coordination of speakers, rapporteur and participants before, during and after the meeting, expected by 31 October 2022
    • Deliverable 5: Archive of all materials from conference, technical summaries, presentations and follow ups recorded, expected by 30 November 2022

    Task 3: Archive materials and report on the conference outcomes 

    • Work with a rapporteur to outline a frame for conference report and review drafts after the conference
    • Work with an editor and designer after the conference to produce a conference report
    • Provide inputs into communications materials, prepare presentations with overviews of the conference and its outcomes
      • Deliverable 6: Draft conference report reviewed and finalized by 15 December 2022
      • Deliverable 7: Provide feedback to designer for finalization of typeset report.
      • Deliverable 8: Draft paper from the conference written and accepted by WHO, expected by 28 February 2023

    Educational Qualifications:

    Essential: 

    • Advanced university degree in health promotion, health communication, socio-behavioral sciences, or any relevant field.

    Desirable: 

    • PhD in one of the above fields.

    Experience:

    Essential: 

    • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in managing projects and collaborations in health communication, health promotion or health programmes with a significant component of working with vulnerable and at risk populations.

    Desirable:

    • Previous experience working with WHO or international organizations. 

    Skills/Knowledge:

    • Ability to use knowledge translation tools and methods.
    • Demonstrated projects expertise across government and non-governmental organizations, especially across different levels from local to national.
    • Ability to diagnose people’s knowledge or desired health behavior and to identify evidence-based or emerging best practices for public health intervention development and identifying the most appropriate model of change to apply to intervention development and develop clear process and outcome indicators.
    • Previous projects expertise to develop capacity of healthcare workers, partners, and influencers to share accurate, credible information and address concerns, information gaps, and misinformation effectively.
