    Continuing Medical Education Coordinator, Medical Services

    Job Summary

    The incumbent will be responsible for administration of Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities, maintaining the CME Database & activity files, preparing, distributing, evaluating results and ensuring that CME activities are conducted according to the CME guidelines.

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure CME activities comply with standards and guidelines governing Continuing Professional Development provision
    • Support in the efforts to identify and define educational needs of the medical staff and allied health professionals
    • Ensure renewal of accreditation with the Medical Board and life support training councils
    • Maintain an up-to-date database of CME activities and training records (e.g. trainee lists, schedules, attendance sheets)
    • Arrange skills/training lab use schedules, supervise use of the lab and handle any queries as pertains to the use of the lab and/or the equipment
    • Establish lab procedures, create and manage skill lab-related documentation and organize lab activities
    • Maintain lab supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies
    • Design and distribute promotional announcements and provide necessary information about programs
    • Ensure the recorded sessions are edited and uploaded to the CME portal in collaboration with the relevant departments ( IT & Library)
    • Coordinate the activities of the multi-disciplinary tumor boards including the circulation of submitted cases and recording of recommendations
    • Support Multi-disciplinary team/Tumour board activities

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences, Business Administration or Education
    • A minimum of one year of equivalent related work experience in a continuing professional development environment
    • Hands-on experience coordinating multiple training programs
    • Proficient in MS Office; working knowledge of databases and Learning Management Systems (LMS) is a plus
    • Understanding of the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking ability
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
    • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
    • Effective time management and organizational skills
