Job Summary

Join Cardno’s International Development team in Nairobi to help implement the anticipated one-year World Bank funded, Female Health Worker Program in Somalia. We are seeking an experienced and innovation-driven Contract Management Specialist to support implementation.
 
 Cardno Emerging markets (East Africa) Ltd has been operating in Kenya since 1989, providing advisory services on a broad range of projects in Kenya and East Africa. We are part of Cardno International Development division which has a 50-year old history in infrastructure, environmental and social development. Cardno works with bilateral and multilateral donors, private firms, and government agencies to improve living standards in developing and developed countries. This includes major donors like the U.K. Department for International Development (DFID), the World Bank, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the European Union (EU), Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the Nike Foundation, Tullow Oil, Philips, and GSK.

This role involves:

• Handling all aspects of contract management including the procurement process, reviewing bids, negotiations, monitoring contracts, and supervising contractors.
• Developing contract management tools, guidelines, and manuals
• Traveling regularly across Somalia

We are seeking an experienced and innovation-driven Contract Management Specialist to support in the implementation of an anticipated one-year World Bank funded Female Health Worker program in Somalia.

Responsibilities

• Advanced Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration OR Financial Management
• At least 10 years working in public sector contract management
• At least 5 years developing capacity to manage contracts
• Demonstrated experience with all aspects of contract management including the procurement process, reviewing bids, negotiations, monitoring contracts, and supervising contractors
• Experience in the health sector is an advantage
• Excellent communication skills in English, verbal as well as written
• Excellent teamwork and facilitation skills
• Excellent report writing skills
• Willingness to travel regularly across Somalia
