The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, market penetration, brand visibility, and customer acquisition across Kimisitu Investment Co. PLC’s product portfolio. The role provides strategic and operational leadership in sales execution, marketing planning, partnerships and customer relationship management, in line with the Company’s strategic plan and shareholder value objectives.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Develop and implement annual and medium-term business development, sales strategies aligned to the Company’s strategic plan.
- Drive achievement of revenue targets, product uptake and market share growth across all company products and segments.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new markets, customer segments and revenue streams.
- Develop and manage structured sales and business development pipelines, forecasts and performance tracking.
- Sales Leadership & Execution
- Lead all sales activities, including prospecting, negotiations and closure of individual, corporate, diaspora and institutional deals.
- Establish sales targets, incentive structures and performance monitoring mechanisms.
- Manage agents, agencies and commission-based sales arrangements.
- Ensure ethical selling practices and compliance with consumer protection and statutory requirements.
- Negotiate and close key institutional and corporate sales.
- Marketing, Brand management & Communications
- Develop and execute integrated marketing, branding and communication strategies to enhance brand visibility and products uptake.
- Oversee product positioning, pricing strategies, promotions and marketing campaigns.
- Manage digital marketing, corporate communications, events, exhibitions, promotional materials and customer engagement initiatives.
- Ensure consistency of brand messaging in line with the Company’s corporate identity and values.
- Partnerships & Business Development
- Identify, structure, negotiate and manage strategic partnerships (e.g., banks, SACCOs, developers, corporates and affiliates).
- Lead co-marketing, distribution, financing and commission-based partnership arrangements.
- Monitor partner performance and ensure mutual value creation.
- Represent the Company in Marketing forums, exhibitions and stakeholder engagements.
- Customer Experience & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Oversee customer onboarding, engagement, retention strategies and after-sales support.
- Manage customer feedback and complaints in collaboration with management team.
- Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, coach, supervise, and develop productive sales and marketing team.
- Set individual and team KPIs and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Build a high-performance, accountable and customer-focused team culture.
- Ensure staff capability, discipline and motivation.
- Enforce ethical selling practices and compliance with company policies.
- Reporting, Controls & Compliance
- Prepare periodic business development, sales and marketing reports for Management and the Board.
- Manage the business development and marketing budget and ensure cost-effective execution.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, Delegation of Authority, CMA regulations, data protection laws and other applicable legislation.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
a) Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
b) Professional Qualifications
Membership to a relevant recognized professional body (e.g., MSK, CIM) is an added advantage.
c) Experience
- Minimum of 7–10 years relevant experience in business development, sales and marketing preferably in real estate or investments environment.
- At least 3–5 years in a management or senior supervisory role.
- Proven track record in driving revenue growth and managing high-performance sales teams.
