Coxswain at Wilderness

Job Summary:

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Coxswain to navigate and steer our watercraft safely on the water. The Coxswain will be responsible for the overall operation of the watercraft, ensuring the safety of passengers and crew, and guiding the boat in compliance with all maritime regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely navigate and steer the watercraft, following designated routes and schedules.
• Monitor weather conditions, tides, and other factors that may affect the safety of the watercraft.
• Communicate effectively with passengers and crew to ensure their safety and comfort.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of the watercraft to ensure it is in proper working condition.
• Assist with mooring, docking, and other tasks as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace on board the watercraft.
• Follow all maritime regulations and safety protocols at all times.

Qualifications:

• Valid Coxswain certificate issued by Kenya maritime authority.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Coxswain or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of maritime regulations and safety procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and in changing weather conditions.
• Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
