    Data and Business Analyst

    Candidate Profile

    • The job holder must have a strong analytical and commercial mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

    Job Purpose

    • Overall, the job holder will drive business value by aligning data/ research with business processes and strategic initiatives. The job will involve extracting, analyzing and interpreting data to provide valuable insights and recommendations to support decision- making and improvement at all levels of the organizations.

    Key Responsibilities

    Data Collection and Analysis:

    • Collect, clean, and organize data from various sources, such as databases, spreadsheets, and external APIs.
    • Perform advanced data analysis using statistical techniques, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization tools to reveal trends, patterns, and insights.

    Reporting and Visualization:

    • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate key metrics, KPIs, and performance indicators to different teams within the company.
    • Customize reports and dashboards to meet the specific needs of different business units and departments.

    Insights and Recommendations:

    • Translate data insights into actionable recommendations to drive business decisions and strategic initiatives.
    • Understand the requirements and objectives of different business sections and provide data-driven solutions to address these needs.

    Predictive Modeling and Forecasting:

    • Build predictive models and forecasting algorithms to forestall future trends, potential risks, and opportunities for growth.
    • Continually update and improve on models to ensure their accuracy and reliability.

    Data Governance and Quality Assurance:

    • Support the implementation of data governance policies and procedures and data quality assurance processes.
    • Identify and resolve data discrepancies and inconsistencies.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with teams across the organization to promote reliance on data insights and drive uptake of identifies insights.
    • Work closely with teams to understand their needs and priorities and deliver timely and relevant data-driven solutions.
    • Facilitate sessions to train teams on data-related projects and information.

    Job Specifications

    Academic & professional Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Actuarial Science or a related field.
    • Professional qualifications in project management,actuarial papers, CII or any other relevant certifications in analytics.
    • Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (e.g., R, Python and SQL), data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and database querying languages (e.g., SQL).

    Skills

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
    • Communication and interpersonal skills

    Experience

    • Minimum 4 years’ experience in life insurance business analysis, data analytics, machine learning techniques, predictive modeling, and data mining algorithms is a plus.
