    Deputy Director, Investment & Portfolio Management

    Job Specifications

    Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -

    • Overseeing the development of policies, regulations, guidelines andstrategy for fund management
    • Overseeing the development of the Scheme’s investment plans andstrategy;
    • Recommending to Trustees strategic investments opportunities;
    • Establishing linkages with strategic financial partners;
    • Regularly meeting with investment analysts and financial strategicpartners to discuss investment opportunities;
    • Providing leadership in analyzing business performance, industrytrends, existing or new regulatory requirements and their impact onbusinessoperations. (viii) Leading in Investment negotiations;
    • Ensuring investment portfolios are aligned with statutory guidelines andKNEST’s strategic objectives;
    • Ensure undertaking of Portfolio and Investment Research;
    • Advising the Trustees on investment options and opportunities;
    • Ensuring returns on investment
    • Coordinating acquisition and management of Scheme Investment withthe aim of increasing its value and assure best returns on investment;
    • Setting the criteria and conditions governing investment;
    • Aligning investment portfolio with KNEST ’s strategic objectives;
    • Ensuring maintenance of proper investment records for all securities
    • Ensuring preparation of all investment and periodic portfolioperformance reports
    • In liaison with the Fund Manager, ensure preparation and filing of all statutory reports
    • Managing and developing staff in the department.
    • Ensuring prudent utilization of the resources of the Corporation

    Person Specifications

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -

    • Served for a minimum period of ten (10) years, four (4) of whichshall be in a management role;
    • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines; Commerce(Finance option), Finance, Economics, Business Management (Finance option) orequivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Masters degree in any of the following disciplines; Commerce (FinanceOption) Finance, Economics, Business Administration (Finance Option)or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
    • Passed Part III of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA K) examinationor equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Certificate in Leadership/Governance course froma recognizedinstitution;
    • Membership with a relevant professional body;
    • Proficiency in computer applications;
    • Meet the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution; and
    • Demonstrated professional and Managerial competence in financeandaccounts functions as reflected in work performance and results.
