Basic Salary Basic Kshs. 99,900 – 169,140 p.m. (CSG6)
House Allowance Ksh.20, 000 – 50,000 p.m (Depending on duty station)
Commuter Allowance KSh.16,000 p.m.
Annual Leave: 30 working days per financial year

For appointment to this grade an officer must have:-

• served for a minimum period of ten (10) years and currently serving at the grade of Principal Regulatory, Communication and Field Services Officer, CSG 8 and above or in a comparable and relevant position in the wider public service;
• a Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: - Law, Trade, Investments, Banking, Finance, Project Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Commerce, Communication or equivalent qualification from a university recognized in Kenya; and
• demonstrated professional competence and managerial capability as reflected in work performance and results.

Note: Experience in regulatory reforms and legislative processes will be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

An officer at this level will report to the Director, Regulatory, Communication and Field services for effective management and administration of the Directorate.

Duties and responsibilities will include:-

• identifying global best-in class legal framework and National laws to inform design of new national laws that affect business climate;
• comparison of National legal framework and their appropriateness to business and identification of legal overlaps and hurdles that exist in current laws and legislation;
• liaising with County legislative teams on ways to minimize regulatory hurdles that impede businesses such as levies, licenses, permits and proposing ways to mitigate the same in the legal realm;
• coordinating implementation of mandatory legal and regulatory business reform plans;
• providing the necessary platform to ensure citizens and the business community provide a robust feedback mechanism on operational challenge areas;
• developing communication plans for reforms; and
• monitoring the performance of business climate
