Deputy Manager, E-library System - Statistics and Library Services Division at Central Bank of Kenya

Job Purpose

The job function entails managing the integrated Library systems, electronic resources, Library portal, classification and cataloguing, processing and preservation of library collections.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Responsibilities

• Participate in the library modernization project

Technical and Operational Responsibilities

• Lead a team in the technical services and e-resource management
• Implementation, maintenance and upgrading of integrated Library systems.
• Implementation of Library automation supplements – Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), self-check machines, etc.; enhancing security of information
• Library portal management; Library server and host administration.
• Technical risk management.
• Digital asset management; e-resources and e-journal management.
• Managing Library back-up systems; technical support; cataloguing and classification.
• Networking with other CBK Bank Libraries to form a union catalogue; preservation and conservation of Library resources.

Other Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of the Library budget.
• Maintain liaison with service providers and IT department in the maintenance of the Library systems.
• Risk Management for the library.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Studies.
• Master’s Degree in Library Studies and Information Science.
• Good knowledge of library Security Systems.

Work Experience

• Five (5) years’ experience in the management of library resources with three (3) years managing e-resources and library security systems.
