    Development Impact Bond (DIB) Manager

    Key Responsibilities

    • Project Management
    • Ensure the successful delivery of the DIB project.
    • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
    • Ensure effective communication with project stakeholders, including partners, the Government of Kenya at all relevant levels, donors/outcome payers, evaluators, intermediaries, (and investors as may be required), as well as LWF HQ DIB manager
    • Financial Management
    • Oversee the financial management of the DIB project, including budget preparation, financial reporting, and risk management.
    • Ensure compliance with the funders’ (outcome payers’) financial requirements and LWF's financial policies and procedures.
    • Systems and Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with agreements, regulations and requirements attached to DIB work (including funder/investor compliance requirements) and LWF quality standards;
    • Identify, track and manage risks (operational, economic, environmental, reputational, etc.) in relation to the DIB;
    • Take lead in the development and alignment of structures, procedures and processes of LWF World Service to effectively, efficiently, and accurately manage DIB related compliance.
    • Monitoring and Evaluation
    • Oversee the development and implementation of a robust monitoring and evaluation framework for the DIB project with special focus on outcomes Monitor project performance against agreed-upon indicators and targets and take timely corrective action as needed.
    • Ensure project issues and risks are identified, monitored, reported on, managed and mitigated; and escalate risks and issues as may be required.
    • Analyse program data and prepare regular reports on the DIB’s progress and impact for donors and other stakeholders.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to all relevant stakeholders.
    • Partnership and Relationship Management
    • Manage and maintain effective and productive relationships with co-implementing partners and all in country stakeholders including the government authorities, line ministries, in country offices of outcome funders / investors (if present), LWF partners in the DIB project, LWF Geneva (including the Geneva based DIB Manager and the steering group) and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that the project is delivered in accordance with their requirements and agreed expectations.
    • Identify and develop partnerships with new organizations (in country) that can support the DIB objectives.
    • Represent LWF Kenya in relevant forums and meetings, including those related to impact investing.
    • Team Management
    • Lead and manage a team of staff of the DIB, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and the successful delivery of outcomes.

    Requirements/Qualifications

    • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as education, international development, business administration, or economics.
    • At least 7 years of relevant experience managing complex international development projects, including experience managing results-based financing mechanisms.
    • Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, and risk management.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data and make evidence-based decisions.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.
    • Proven experience in team management, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff to achieve set objectives.
    • Extensive knowledge of the Kenyan education system and experience working with marginalized communities.
    • Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of local languages is an advantage
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Strong background in education and knowledge and track record of working with government ministries and authorities is an advantage.
    • A track record in managing impact bonds (or other impact investment models) is preferred
