DevOps Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer - Jumia (Full Time) at Jumia

Main Responsibilities:

1. Be part of an agile team Site Reliability Engineers using state-of-art tech technologies to build and monitor systems, applications and services;
2. Work with our development teams to build Continuous Integrations & Delivery pipeline improving the fill delivery pipeline to get faster time to market, lower failure rate of new releases and shorten lead time between fixes;
3. Develop tools to automate: product build and delivery, maintenance & operations tasks, quality standards testing;
4. Support and influence our product development teams to use the Continuous Delivery infrastructure and Devops Methodology;
5. Work with Product Development and Infrastructure Systems to design and implement solutions and resolve issues;
6. Help build reliable, high-performance, auto scaled and fault tolerant software throw standards as well as testing, load and stress testing;

Required Skills and Qualifications:

1. Must have experience/knowledge in Linux environments;
2. Experience/knowledge with configuration management tools;
3. Monitor tools;
4. Shell and Python scripting;
5. Skilled with tools such as Jenkins;
6. Experience/Knowledge with CI/CD;
7. Experience with or interest in virtual/containers environments (e.g. Docker);
8. Knowledge of Devops Methodology;
9. Fluent in English;

1. Knowledge in Kafka, RabbitMQ, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Prometheus/AlertManager, Grafana, Elasticsearch/Logstash/Kibana, Vault, Consul, Couchbase, Redis, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DNS;
2. Java, PHP, Javascript, GoLang;
3. Networking skills regarding routing and overall troubleshooting using TCPdump analysis;
4. Experience provisioning servers and services using AWS, Azure or GCP;
5. Familiar with SCRUM methodology;

Academic & trades qualifications

1. Academic background in IT or equivalent;
2. Proficiency in English;
3. 1 year of experience;
