Job Purpose
The Director, Clinical Services will provide strategic leadership in planning, coordinating and delivering high-quality healthcare services across the Hospital. This role ensures compliance with national health policy, professional ethics and institutional standards while driving innovation, efficiency and optimal patient outcomes
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director will:
- Provide governance and operational oversight for excellence in clinical service delivery.
- Formulate and implement Policies, Procedures, Guidelines, professional and ethical standards governing clinical practice in line with national and international standards.
- Participate in the development and review of the Hospital’s strategic plan.
- Prepare and implement Work plans and performance contracts for the Directorate of Clinical Services.
- Establish strategic partnerships and collaborations with stakeholders in clinical services.
- Promote teaching, research, innovation and technology transfer in the provision of clinical services.
- Ensure prudent resource mobilization, management and utilization in compliance with the Public Finance Management framework.
- Ensure maintenance of an accurate database of all clinical records and assets including research projects and intellectual properties.
- Coordinate performance management, mentorship, training and professional development of staff to build a highly skilled and motivated clinical workforce.
- Ensure compliance with Health laws and regulations.
- Implement recommendations of internal and external audits.
- Monitor and evaluate clinical processes and outcomes and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive Board and Management reports on clinical services.
Key Qualifications and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Dental Surgery from an institution recognized by Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council or Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Master’s degree in Medicine, Dentistry or Pharmacy or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council or Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- A minimum period of fifteen (15) years relevant work experience with at least five (5) years’ experience at a senior management level or a comparable position.
- Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council or Pharmacy and Poison Board.
- Valid clinical practicing license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists Council or Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Specialist recognition from the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists' Council or the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.

- Proficiency in computer applications.
