Director ICT at Uasin Gishu County Government

Requirements for appointment:-

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Master’s degree in a relevant ICT or management field will be an added advantage.
• Professional certifications such as CCNA, CISM, CISA, ITIL, or PMP are desirable.
• At least 10 years of relevant ICT experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior management or leadership role.
• Proven experience in ICT strategic planning, systems development, project management, and cybersecurity.
• Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale ICT infrastructure and change management processes.
• Knowledge of e-Government initiatives and digital transformation will be an advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities -:

• Lead the formulation and implementation of ICT strategies, policies, and standards aligned with national and institutional development goals.
• Oversee the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of ICT systems including software, hardware, and networks.
• Ensure the security of ICT systems and data, including the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Coordinate ICT projects and ensure effective project management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Provide technical support and guidance to departments on ICT-related matters.
• Manage contracts and relationships with ICT vendors and service providers.
• Promote innovation and adoption of emerging technologies to improve service delivery.
• Supervise, mentor, and build capacity of ICT staff to ensure high performance and career development.
• Monitor compliance with relevant ICT laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Prepare and present reports on ICT performance, risks, and strategic initiatives to senior management.
