    Director, Institute of Gender Diversity and Peace Studies (Re-advertisement)

    Duties and Responsibilities 

    • The post of Director is a Management position within the University reporting to the Deputy Vice –
    • Chancellor, Academics, Research, Extension & Student Affairs and shall be responsible for:-
    • execution of Gender Diversity and Peace policy matters;
    • advocating and promoting gender equity and diversity through affirmative action;
    • developing and coordinating Gender Diversity and Peace functions within the University environment;
    • promoting development and implementation of gender diversity and peace policies;
    • promoting multi-disciplinary research on Gender Diversity and Peace issues at the local, national and regional levels;
    • advocating for and promoting education of women and men;
    • advocating mainstreaming of gender diversity and peace in all Moi University programs;
    • establishing systems and strategies that address students’ and staff’s real-life issues;
    • establishing policies that promote reproductive health and well-being of women and families;
    • creating consultancies, collaboration and linkages at the local, national, regional and international levels; and
    • instituting strategies for Gender Diversity and Peace sustainability.

    Qualification Requirements
    For appointment to this position, a candidate must:-

    • be a member of the Academic Staff of the University;
    • be at least a Senior Lecturer having served in a leadership position within the University;
    • be in possession of a Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree or its equivalent from a recognized Institution/University; and
    • have demonstrated outstanding administrative/managerial capability in the organization and management.Relevant Publications in Refereed Journals will be an added advantage.

    Note: 
    A Director shall hold office for a period of three (3) years renewable once subject to satisfactory performance. Applicants who have served as such for two (2) consecutive terms immediately following the lapse of the last appointment shall not be eligible to apply
