Director of Partnerships & Fundraising - Expertise Global at Expertise Global Consulting Ltd. (EGC)

• We are seeking a Director of Partnerships and Fundraising whwill help bolster our portfoliin existing and  new service areas. Alongside the Managing Director, your job will be tfind and connect with new clients wh align with our vision and are interested in working alongside us tconceptualize and deliver impactful and  sustainable interventions. We want you tbe the reason that clients (new and existing) call us for advice, chat  about the latest happenings in the sector, sit alongside us in panels and tap intour shared vision for the  Continent.
• You will alsrecruit and lead a formidable team of business development specialists whcan draft  concept notes and proposals that communicate our vision impactfully and memorably. You should be able to have one-on-one meetings with global and local leaders, sit in a panel with distinguished professors with  whom you can have a healthy debate, and join your team while they brainstorm around a whiteboard on what  is possible for the concepts and proposals we are developing. With you on board we will have a healthy  portfoliof ongoing, multi-year projects and programmes, with a healthy pipeline of more being on-boarded.

Leadership and Management

• Lead a diverse and distributed team of business development professionals in Nairobi and  field offices
• Work closely with the MD and other senior leadership trefine the strategy and tensure that  work across the team is collaborative
• Introduce tools treplace manual processes, reduce errors, and increase efficiency

Business Development

• Actively make connections and strengthen relationships with partners and clients whom we  can work with on projects and new concepts
• Grow and lead the partnerships and fundraising team, developing proposals, concepts and  related documents that are excellent in content, graphic design and messaging
• Ensure that the pipeline and portfolimeet a minimum live threshold

Project Management

• Support the Programmes department tensure that ongoing projects are progressing well,  while ensuring that lessons learned over implementation are fed back intthe business  development process
• Work with teams on ongoing projects tfind opportunities for follow on work and  engagements with existing clients
• Invest time and resources in effective communication on our work, be it via blogs, policy  briefs, media and other channels of engagement Research
• Gather and feed a steady stream of information and information sources tthe research  department tensure in-house knowledge is mined textract learning that can be used  towards bolstering business development activities.
• Contribute and publish papers, articles and other communication tools tshare knowledge  amongst our stakeholders with a view tattracting additional clients.
• Collaborate with research focused agencies tensure all information we are working with is  the latest and that it can feed back tdiversify our offerings 

Qualifications:

• 5–8 years of senior level professional experience in a global consulting firm or similar
• Demonstrated experience drafting high quality proposals and concept notes that stand out and inform, while persuading
• Strong communication skills with stellar public speaking, writing and communication experience
• Strong networking and social skills that foster trust. You love meeting and chatting with people;  listening ttheir passions and motivations, and sharing ideas with them
• Experience managing, inspiring and working alongside team members; being very aware and  responsive ttheir needs and motivations
• Propensity tbe proactive and perceptive tthe needs of the client and of the team; solution oriented  and confident
• Ability tspeak and write in French and/or Portuguese a plus
