Job Description

DISPATCH OFFICER - REF KFS/DO/2024 - KFS GRADE 8 - (1) POSITIONS
Entry Requirements :

• Dispatch license (grade 7);
• Dispatch certificate (grade 8);
• Certificate of Good Conduct;
• Must be computer literate;
• Aviation Security training (AVSEC);
• Dangerous Goods training;
• Crew resource Management training;
• Proficiency in Computer applications
• Fulfills the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English both in writing and in speech;
• Good analytical skills;
• Be flexibility to work long /any hours including weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, call outs in varying climatic conditions;

• Able to work independently, prioritize flight missions and perform operations under highly stressful or emergency conditions.
• Have high attention to detail
• Must have a good working knowledge of the relevant aircrafts;
• Have a good working knowledge of the K.C.A.A. and I.C.A.O. regulations.

An officer at this level shall report to a Senior officer.

Duties and responsibilities;

• Assisting in preparing and filing the Air Traffic Control (A.T.C.) flight plans.
• Assisting the P.I.C. with pre-flight preparation by providing the relevant information required. These will include getting weather reports and security, safety reports, NOTAM etc;
• Assisting in passenger or cargo clearance
• Assisting in flight following;
• Assisting in clearing and dispatching aircrafts;
• Assisting in filing A.T.C. flight plans.
• Assisting in Marshalling of K.F.S. aircrafts;
• Assisting in mooring the aircrafts;
• Assisting Loading and offloading aircraft;
• Assisting in filing passenger manifests with the relevant offices.
• Securing the K.F.S. aircrafts after a flight mission when parked at the home base;
• Assisting in pre-flight aircraft preparation e.g. fuelling, and availing water supplies for the passengers;
• Promote public values and principles
