    POSTS, REFERENCE NO. NLAS/D11/11/5/2026/30
    Qualifications.

    For appointments to this grade, a candidate must have;

    • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum mean grade D plain or its equivalent;
    • Valid Class BCE Driving License free from any endorsement;
    • Defensive Driving Certificate from a recognized institution;
    • Occupational Trade Test Grade II for drivers;
    • First Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week from St John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized Institution;
    • Proficiency in Computer application skills; and
    • At least two (2) years of driving experience;

    Duties and Responsibilities.

    Duties and responsibility at this level will entail;

    • Driving a motor vehicle as authorized; 
    • Carrying out minor mechanical repairs;
    • Safety of passengers and/or goods therein;
    • Maintaining cleanliness of the assigned vehicles;
    • Carrying out routine checks on the vehicles cooling, oil, electrical and brake systems, tyre pressure;
    • Detecting and reporting malfunctioning of vehicle systems;
    • Carrying out minor repairs including oiling and greasing;
    • Maintenance of work tickets for vehicles assigned;
    • Ensuring security and safety for the vehicle on and off the road;
    • Ensure safety of the passengers and/or goods therein; and
    • Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.

    Remuneration will be in accordance with NLAS Salary Scale;

    • Salary Scale: Ksh. 25,067 x 1,754 – 26,821 x 1,755 – 28,576 x 1,755 – 30,331 x 1,755 – 32,086 x 1,755 – 33,841 x 1,755 – 35,596 x 1,755 – 37,351 p.m
