Job Purpose    

The job holder is responsible for responsible for ensuring that all vehicles are maintained in good order to ensure smooth mobility of employees of the Authority

Job Specification

Duties and responsibilities

1. Driving KoTDA vehicle as authorized;
2. Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle;
3. Keeping up to date work tickets for vehicles;
4. Submitting regular reports on motor vehicle assigned;
5. Ensure Safety of passengers and goods therein;
6. Ensure Security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road;
7. Maintain work tickets for vehicles assigned to them;
8. Ensuring adherence to traffic laws;
9. Monitoring and reporting expiry of insurance policies for motor vehicles;
10. Maintaining proper mechanical working condition of the vehicle; and
11. Reporting any mechanical/accident problems.

Person Specification

For appointment to this grade a candidate must have: –

1. At least a mean grade D+ (plus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
2.  The Occupational Trade Test II Certificate;
3. Valid driving license free from any current endorsements(s) for classes of the vehicles the driver is required to drive;
4. An accident-free driving period of 3 years;
5. A defensive Driving Certificate from the Automobile Association of Kenya (AA) or its equivalent qualification from any other recognized institution;
6. First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. Johns Ambulance or any other recognized institution;
7. At least served in the grade of Driver for at least four (4) years;
8. Proficiency in computer applications; and
9. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the constitution.
