    Early Years Co-Teacher

    Ideal Candidates:

    Passionate, reflective, and collaborative Early Years educators with a strong understanding of child development and child-led, play-based learning. Candidates should be nurturing yet purposeful, adaptable to individual learner needs, and committed to working closely with colleagues, families, and the wider school community.

    Qualifications and Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant Advanced Diploma in Early Years Education
    • Minimum three years’ relevant Early Years teaching experience
    • Demonstrated understanding of child-led and play-based instructional approaches
    • Strong understanding of child development and diverse learning needs
    • Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Reflective, innovative, and adaptable approach to teaching
    • Commitment to continuous professional growth and sustainability
    • Strong alignment with Woodland Star’s mission and values
    • International or multicultural experience preferred
    • Valid TSC Number for Kenyan applicants
    • Current police clearance/background check
    • Certified copies of academic and professional documents
    • At least two professional references

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Implement engaging, child-centred, and play-based learning experiences
    • Create a safe, inclusive, stimulating, and nurturing classroom environment
    • Support children in developing confidence, independence, communication, and social skills
    • Observe learners closely and use assessment information to understand their development and inform teaching
    • Differentiate learning experiences to respond to individual needs, interests, and developmental stages
    • Collaborate with colleagues to plan curriculum, support learners, and engage in professional learning
    • Work closely with parents and families to support children’s development and well-being
    • Communicate effectively with learners, families, colleagues, and the wider school community
    • Contribute to a positive classroom culture that encourages curiosity, creativity, exploration, and collaboration
    • Uphold Woodland Star’s educational standards, mission, values, and Behaviour Code
    • Participate in school events, projects, and community initiatives
    • Engage in continuous professional development and reflective teaching practice
