ECDE TEACHER III JOB GROUP “H”–

Job Description

This is the entry grade for teachers with Diploma in Early Childhood Development and Education. A teacher at this level will work under the supervision of a more senior teacher for the purposes of professional mentoring and growth.

Duties and responsibilities.

1. Class teaching.
2. Role modelling, guidance and counselling, mentoring and motivation of the learners.
3. Preparing reports
4. Ensuring the safety and security of the learners
5. Identifying, initiating, developing and facilitating play learning activities that will enable learners enjoy living and learning through play.
6. Developing relevant play/learning materials for all learners.
7. Preparing and developing schemes of work, lesson plans and daily programmes of activities, assessment and evaluation of learners’ progress and keeping professional records.

Requirement for appointment

1. For direct appointment to this grade, a candidate must be in possession of: –
2. Be a Kenyan Citizen
3. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum grade C (Plain) or its approved equivalent.
4. Diploma in Early Childhood Development and Education offered by KNEC or its approved equivalent
5. Registered by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
6. A Certificate in Computer Proficiency.

2.  Clearance from HELB where necessary
3. Clearance from the Ethics and anti–corruption commission
4. Certificate of good conduct from the police
5. CRB Clearance Certificate
