Reporting to the Production & Maintenance Manager, the Electrician will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of machinery within a workshop environment. The role requires a thorough understanding of troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and calibrating equipment, appliances, and apparatus to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety and operational efficiency.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Install and configure instrumentation, wiring, outlets, and controls for plant equipment.
Integrate new systems with existing infrastructure; interpret diagrams and perform initial testing.
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration, and routine inspections on bakery machines.
Monitor instrumentation/controls, troubleshoot PLC-linked devices, sensors, and final control elements.
Maintain documentation of installation, maintenance, calibration, and incidents.
Install and maintain safety/distribution components; conduct risk assessments.
Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and workshop staff; provide technical support and training.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation, Industrial/Electronic Technology, or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in instrumentation & control in an industrial/workshop setting.
Basic knowledge of PLC and SCADA software.
Familiarity with VFDs and ability to troubleshoot/repair failures (AB experience is an advantage).
Solid electrical background with ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
Strong understanding of instrumentation, control, and industrial electrical systems.
