    End of the Line Engineer

    Job Purpose:

    The End Of the Line (EOL) Engineer oversees the efficient operation of the EOL processes (Diff Lock Test, Break teat, Road Test, Wheel alignment, Shower/Leak test, Head lamp alignment, Major/Minor Rework and Parts retro fitments, Vehicle trouble shooting/Error diagnosis and ECU Flashing and other OEM Specified tests carried out at EOL at AVA. In conjunction with other professionals from other Engineering disciplines the EOL Engineer is responsible for supporting & coaching staff, ensuring health and safety codes are followed, training workers in the responsible use of equipment, monitoring adherence to Productivity & Quality Targets, leading Problem-Solving Teams in the successful analysis and reduction on all areas of waste, and completing various administrative tasks.

    Required qualifications and experience:

    • Minimum 4-5 years progressive work experience in Quality Assurance or similar role.
    • Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred.
    • Knowledge of and ability to execute statistical process control activities, measurement systems analysis and variable data analysis
    • Must be able to manage high-demand workloads.
    • Solid auditing skills, capable of driving issue resolution as a seasoned team player.
    • Experience with e-learning platforms.
    • Knowledge of systematic quality tools/software such as Q-pulse.
    • Knowledge of ISO 9001:205 and IATF 16949:2016 standards and accompanying certification.

    Responsibilities

    • Supporting the End Of the Line processes, ensuring quality work is done in a safe, efficient manner.
    • Liaising with other engineers to develop plans that improve production, quality, and costs.
    • Plan, manage, and oversee all elements of EOL operations in line with Assembly Line output in the plant
    • Assess and analyze current EOL operations methods as specified by Original Equipment Manufacturer
    • Follow product specifications and quality control measures and support where improvements are required.
    • Determine which machines, tools, equipment, etc. will be used and where they will be stationed in the EOL / line.
    • Prepare Skill Matrices based on job requirements, carry competency assessments, and develop training plans based on skill gaps.
    • Develop and implement quality control measures that effectively monitor products and guarantee desired results in all EOL Operations.
    • Internal and external reporting of agreed quality key performance indicators (KPIs) as required by relevant stakeholders.
    • Support expedited customer complain resolution in liaison with cross functional stakeholder departments by conducting root cause analyses, putting in containment actions, and implementing short-term and long-term countermeasures.
    • Keeping abreast of advancements in EOL Technologies and sharing knowledge with co-workers.
    • Identifying, documenting, and reporting unsafe practices.
    • Drawing up EOL schedules and budgets for projects.
    • Analyzing all facets of EOL Operations and making recommendations for improvement.
    • Ensure that the EOL operates in accordance with AVA’s established health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
    • Interface with third-party OEM representatives in support of troubleshooting unresolved quality errors
    • Develop and continually update quality feedback loop documentation to carry forward lessons learned from quality concerns. Communicate updates to stakeholder departments for seamless implementation
    • Keep abreast with any changes regarding regulatory requirements, customer specific requirements, ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 standards that may affect AVA’s quality management system and related processes.
    • Support quality control inspectors and technicians in the sign-off of quality instructions and resolution of internal/external quality concerns.
    • Determine inspection equipment and facility requirements affecting quality performance and liaise with the Technical Services Department for calibration and maintenance support.
    • Any other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
