Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) at Ilara Health

About the role
Ilara Health is seeking to recruit several Entrepreneurs-in-Residence to own new strategic projects and understand their viability in our markets. Ilara Health distributes new, high-quality diagnostic devices to underserved primary health clinics that struggle to afford even basic equipment. The successful candidate/s will be responsible for ideating, implementing and evaluating high-level projects at Ilara’s partner facilities. The ideal person for this job has experience working in agile, fast-paced environments and is comfortable working autonomously across various teams. 

Job Responsibilities and Duties

1. Own new business ventures by ideating, designing, implementing and evaluating new projects;
2. Track and assess the impact of programs, including establishing deadlines and KPIs;
3. Establish strong relationships with healthcare facilities and personnel, with frequent and effective communication to ensure the success of projects;
4. Research, understand and identify gaps in diagnostic services across primary healthcare in Kenya & Sub-Saharan Africa;
5. Research and identify disruptive medical diagnostic devices suitable for the primary healthcare context;
6. Develop and execute strategies as you gain insights.
7. Work cross-functionally with several internal and external stakeholders;
8. Collaborate closely with the team members to provide effective solutions to support business and quality objectives; 

Minimum Requirements

1. 3 years of working experience in a fast-paced environment (eg startups, consulting, investment banking):
2. Team player with great organizational skills who can operate independently in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environment; 
3. Ability to build fruitful relationships with various stakeholders;
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
5. Have strong computer skills; 
6. Fluent in spoken and written English and Swahili (preferred)

A (big) plus

1. Demonstrated understanding of the medical diagnostics landscape in Kenya;
2. Experience in designing and implementing healthcare programs, including in the delivery of diagnostics in Sub-Saharan Africa;
3. Basic technical knowledge of diagnostic devices is a plus;
