    Export Market Manager

    As a Market Manager, you would be the market expert for assigned market scope, take ownership of driving our export performance ambitions and work cross functionally to eliminate risks in our quest to deliver the best in class end to end logistics solutions to our customers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    The Market Manager is overall responsible for driving the performance in terms of volume, market share, revenue and profitability for assigned market scope. While also ensuring that the market direction and execution is aligned with the East Africa Area Business Plans and key focus customer verticals.

    Export Performance

    • Drives and influences the stability of our Ocean performance by ensuring targeted export volume, Market share and revenue are being delivered
    • Drives corrective actions with the commercial organization and cross-functional stakeholders as needed to address volume and revenue shortfall
    • Ensures availability of required assets (capacity, equipment, network),
    • Drives cross-functional collaboration to mitigate operational risks that can hinder volume delivery and meeting customer needs
    • Drives contractual customer portfolio performance (contracts, tenders), rate index development and contract fulfillment

    Product Development and Strategy

    • Provides input on market growth, trends and intelligence to inform market strategy and yearly volume and revenue budget setting
    • Provides input on product development and features (Ocean network and products)
    • Translates overall Market direction setting into Area direction for the commercial organization
    • Provides Input on tender/ocean contract commercial planning and short term pricing strategy
    • Provides relevant market context and guidance on contracting position to Ocean Contract Product Managers
    • Plays an active role through projects and initiatives when it comes to logistics and services development for key customer segments/verticals
    • Benchmarks our services vs competitor services but also drives improvement initiatives with relevant cross-functional teams

    Who we are looking for:

    • 3-5 years of experience within the logistics space, shipping industry or fast paced multicultural environment
    • Strategic, collaborative and innovative mindset
    • Strong stakeholder management, influence without authority and conflict resolution
    • Competitive landscape knowledge (would be nice to have but not mandatory)
    • Managing / collaborating with potentially virtual and diverse / global  teams
    • Effective communication skills
    • Performance management and reporting
    • Analytical skills
    • Resilience, able to persist and adapt despite challenges
