    Field Supervisors (Kiambu, Kajiado, Nairobi, Elgeyo Marakwet, and Kilifi counties)

    We are seeking field supervisors to oversee data collection. The Field Supervisors will be responsible for qualitative and quantitative data collection in the target counties.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Train and supervise fieldworkers, carry out regular visits and spot checks to ensure adherence to data quality, ethical guidelines
    2. Ensure questionnaires/ data forms are well completed and track questionnaires/forms sent back for call-backs and take corrective action including re-training of field teams on the use of research instruments.
    3. · Conduct all key in-depth interviews and support moderation of the focus group discussion
    4. ·Provide support and guidance to the Field Workers on data collection, resolve any problems and report on actions taken.
    5. Participate in continuous quality control and validation; chair weekly Field workers’ debriefs; attend weekly quality control meetings; attend quarterly CAST meetings;
    6. Prepare reports on field operations as required.

    Person Specification

    To be considered for the position of Field Supervisor, one MUST have the following minimum requirements:

    • A resident of the Enumeration County
    • Degree/Diploma in Anthropology, Sociology, Environmental Health, Community Health, Public health or Health-related field
    • Experience with electronic data collection
    • Fluent in English and Swahili written and Spoken with fluency in local language spoken in the study area an added advantage
    • Experience in working in complex household surveys preferably with a supervisory capacity
    • Able to work in challenging field conditions, within tight timelines, and in the conditions of roving field operations
    • Proven leadership skills, assertiveness and takes initiative
    • Ability to work with little supervision
    • Availability for the full duration of the data collection in the study (1 month covering the training and data collection)

    To be considered for the position of Data Collection Field Officer, one MUST have the following minimum requirements:

    • At least a diploma or certificate from a reputable college or university within Kenya. Those with certificates in nursing and teaching will also be considered.
    • A minimum C+ mean grade in KCSE
    • An original copy of the Kenya National Identity card
    • Available for training and deployment between 23rd August to 1st September 2018.
    • Experience in electronic data collection with a bias to ODK will be an added advantage
    • Familiarity with and ability to work in Kilifi, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nakuru, Kajiado, and Nairobi countie
