    Finance Intern

    Responsibilities

    • The Finance Intern is responsible for
    • Supporting the Cluster with finance duties to ensure effective programme implementation

    The Finance Intern will undertake the following tasks:

    • Assist in ensuring the accounting vouchers are stamped, coded and are confirmed for material correctness before forwarding to accountants for payments and booking.
    • Cross-referencing copies of vouchers of shared costs filed in each of the different project files for easy tracing of original copy
    • Support in follow up on invoices from suppliers and clearing outstanding receivables
    • Collect all invoices for VAT exemption processing, prepare and follow up the DA1 forms with the line ministry.
    • Timely updates VAT exemption application for exemption database and maintain an up to date Monitoring tool for the exemption process.
    • Assist the accountants in preparation of M-PESA templates
    • Support in follow up of clearing outstanding receivables and in providing documents required during audit revisions and Internal Control.
    • Photocopying and scanning documents as and when required
    • Support archiving of booked vouchers, filing finance documents in physical files as per GIZ filing rules.
    • Assist with logistical organization of events, workshops and partner travels to ensure settlements are smoothly accomplished
    • Undertake any other duties as may be assigned by the programme or cluster management

    The Finance Intern will have the following profile:

    Qualifications:

    • Diploma or Degree in Business administration, economics, accounting or equivalent

    Additional competencies:

    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
    • Willingness to acquire new knowledge and being flexible
    • Excellent knowledge of the English language
    • Ability to work in a diverse workplace specifically a multi-cultural environment across countries
    • Ability to multitask and perform urgent assignments
    • Good application knowledge of ICT software like Ms Office
    • Ability to work remotely

    Method of Application

    Applicants must be available from 21 June 2022 to 09 October 2022 (depending on the role and the election calendar)

    • All candidates must have sufficient computer skills to operate with electronic mail, word processing, public presentation, and spreadsheet software.
    • Flexibility required. Work is expected on occasions both in the evening and weekends.
    • Place of work is Nairobi and, for some positions, different postings around the country.
