Finance Manager at Pezesha

• We are looking for an experienced Financial Manager who will be responsible for internal accounting control, cashflow forecasting, financial planning and analysis and investor reporting across various stakeholders.

Primary responsibilities:

• Maintain financial accounts by ensuring month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement items for all countries per applicable IFRS standards
• Can develop complex financial models
• Liaise with external auditors to facilitate quarterly and annual audits and implementation of all their recommendations in our books
• Forecast monthly and quarterly cash requirements for all business lines and prepare periodic budgets for the different departments
• Ensure on-time closing of receivables and payables for all third-party service providers
• Provide strategic decision making based on accounting reporting to always ensure cost management and revenue optimization strategies
• Collaborate with finance and credit operations team for investor reporting, covenant compliance, budget variation, financial statements analysis
• Perform research and monitor financial markets, collect and report information for the CEO and COO to build debt and equity pipelines and update the respective data room accordingly.

Your skills and experience:

• At least 7 years of relevant financial accounts audit experience, with at least 5 years with a high growth startup/company.
• Lateral experiences within a corporate finance, investments & transactions, or Fintech comparable role will be favored.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks or other related accounting software
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong understanding of IFRS9 standards
• Strong understanding of local taxation in Kenya and Uganda and prior experience dealing with KRA audits and requests
• Professional qualification: CPA or ACCA
• Added advantage: experience in Fintech or Tier 1 East African Banking industry or Big four accounting firms
• Added Advantage: Fintech or Lending/Credit Background
