Food & Agriculture - Business Client Advisors at Equity Bank Kenya

Job Purpose: 

• The officer will be based at the branch and Reporting to the Relationship Manager Credit , being responsible for implementation of the SME and Coporate F&A growth in their Respective branches
• Involved in developing agribusiness SME growth strategies for the agriculture sector and meeting the set targets set by the sector and the branch.
• Prospecting for new SME Agri - businesses or high net worth clients in the agriculture sector
• Participating in presentations to clients, partnership and marketing drives and other relationship management activities
• Customer service management as part of relationship building and actively responsible to the management of existing clients

Key duties & responsibilities

1. Mobilizing deposits and growth of the loan book to grow the Bank’s portfolio.
2. Manage the portfolio quality of the various customers under their portfolio.
3. Growing customer numbers/base
4. Ensure the Sector’s policies and procedures are adhered to.
5. Identifying customer potential and credit worthiness and preparing credit proposals in compliance with the Bank’s credit and lending policy
6. Growth of the loan book by marketing to new and existing customers.
7. Relationship management of both customers and institutions.
8. Customer and Institutional appraisal.
9. Quality Customer Service.
10. Advising farmers and the bank on technical aspects.
11. Supporting the various branch operations.

Qualifications

Desired academic & professional qualifications.

• Holder of a Degree in agricultural economics/agriculture/agribusiness, Food sciences/technology, agriculture finance or related field.
• Professional background in Accounting, Finance, Financial Analysis and/or Economics will be an added advantage
• At least six (3) years of relevant experience in Agriculture  sector
• Competence in the use of standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Sector analysis tools, etc.).
• Excellent communication skills
