Design, develop, and maintain GIS applications and systems to support decision-making, planning, and analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, test, and maintain GIS applications and systems, including designing user interfaces, databases, and back-end systems.
Develop custom tools and scripts to automate GIS processes.
Manage and maintain geographic data, including data acquisition, cleaning, integration, and quality control.
Perform spatial analysis to derive insights for decision-making processes.
Design and produce maps and visualizations for various purposes such as reports, presentations, and web applications.
Maintain and optimize spatial databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
Create comprehensive documentation for GIS applications, data, and processes.
Conduct testing and quality assurance to ensure GIS applications are error-free and perform as expected.
Provide training and support to end-users, helping them utilize GIS tools and applications effectively.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including GIS analysts, cartographers, and domain experts, to understand project requirements and deliver solutions that meet the needs of stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Academic: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Geography, Geospatial Sciences, or related field.
Experience: At least 2 years in developing GIS-based tools for data collection and analysis.
Skills: Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, or other open-source GIS tools), strong programming skills in languages like Python and JavaScript, deep understanding of spatial concepts and geographical data, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and good communication skills.
