Technical leadership in Community Based Inclusive Development (CBID): Ensure positioning of CBM in relevant technical conversations; oversee the development, review and update of programmes, tools, guidelines, technical documents of the CBID Initiative as relevant; Foster innovation in CBM’s CBID work in cooperation with partners, regional advisors and other functions
Drive the CBID approach across CBM’s programme portfolio and programme strategies: Strengthen and uphold programme quality related to CBID, ensure strategic alignment and coherence across the CBID portfolio as well as implementation of relevant elements of CBM’s CBID Initiative plan; document and disseminate good practice examples and case studies of CBID programmes; foster learning and collaboration through a CBID Community of Practice.
Supportive supervision and management of regional CBID advisors: ensuring effective collaboration of staff within the team and across functions; promotion of CBM’s values, behaviours and culture with the team.
Ensure linkages between CBM’s CBID work and related areas/global conversations outside of CBM (e.g. community development and other cross-sectoral/multi-disciplinary initiatives, community care and support agenda)
Ensure CBM’s key network and alliance priorities in the area of (disability inclusive) community development are fulfilled, and represent CBM (e.g. regional and global CBR/CBID networks)
Contribute to CBID capacity development of partners and CBM staff through online and in person trainings, support updates and continuous improvement of CBM’s training programme
Contribute to resource mobilisation for CBM’s CBID work in support of individual giving and institutional fundraising efforts
Promotion of CBM’s disability inclusive community development work: development and publication of content on CBM’s CBID work for communication and advocacy
These are your qualifications
Professional background and relevant working experience in CBID at local, national, regional and international levels with experience of systems strengthening, community mobilisation, peer support, disability rights etc.
Background and experience in development cooperation, including in proposal development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting
At least 10-15 years working experience in low- and middle-income countries
Graduate degree in related field
Strong understanding of disability-inclusive development
Proven experience in leadership, and in managerial roles
Experience in networking, and relationships with key global and continental networks
Knowledge and understanding of global trends and priorities in CBR/CBID/disability inclusive community development
Experience in working with governments and key international stakeholders
Experience in teaching/ training/capacity development
Languages: English proficiency required; working knowledge of Spanish, French and German advantageous, Basic sign language knowledge advantageous
Travel (around 1/3 of the working time)
