Consultant Scope of Work

The scope of work includes:

1. Designing a 15-page child-friendly, playful guide for the Community Listening Library Starter Kits that is culturally relevant for Kenya for use by librarians, parents, and children,
2. Designing the receptacle for the Community Listening Library Starter Kits (i.e., a box, bag, or container for children’s use in a community library),
3. Creating cover illustrations for included written and audio materials,
4. Working with translators to ensure that all designed content is available in Kiswahili,
5. Ensuring design coherence for all materials included in the Community Listening Libraries,
6. Designing other creative content for the Starter Kits as needed.

Key Deliverables

At minimum, the deliverables include:

1. All design documents and drafts of all content,
2. Style guide for the Community Listening Library Starter Kit that is child-friendly and culturally relevant for Kenya
3. Final design of the physical Starter Kit box/bag/container,
4. Finalised 15-page Starter Kit Guide for adults and children in English,
5. Finalised design of all activities, games, and other materials in English,
6. Finalised design of all materials in Kiswahili,
7. Cover illustrations for written and audio materials,
8. Other design edits as needed.
