Graphic Designer & Digital Content Creator at Alliance Française Nairobi

MISSIONS

• Under the supervision of the Communication Department and in collaboration with the cultural and educational teams, the consultant will be responsible for:
• Providing artistic direction for the communication materials of the Alliance Française de Nairobi
• Ensuring the consistent implementation of the institution’s visual identity across all communication channels
• Designing and producing a wide range of communication tools related to: cultural programming and events, French language courses, translation services, institutional communication, partnerships and special projects.
• Developing and adapting templates in line with the new brand guidelines
• Producing format adaptations and resizing for both print and digital media
• Creating visual assets for social media campaigns and digital communication
• Generating creative content ideas and supporting online engagement strategies
• Preparing and optimizing multimedia content before publication
• Collaborating closely with internal teams to meet communication needs and production deadlines

PROFILE
The ideal candidate should demonstrate:

• Strong graphic design and visual communication skills
• Excellent command of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Understanding of branding systems and editorial design
• Experience designing both print and digital platforms
• Knowledge of social media formats and content production workflows
• Strong attention to detail and consistency
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Interest in arts, culture, and contemporary creative industries
• Motion design and video editing skills are considered an asset
• Knowledge of French is an advantage but not mandatory

CONTRACT CONDITIONS

• Consultancy contract based in Nairobi
• Duty station: Alliance Française de Nairobi – on site 5 days per week
• Initial duration: 3 months, renewable and with potential opportunities for further engagement.
• Monthly consultancy fee: KES 65,000
• Payment: end of every month, subject to applicable tax
• French language training at Alliance Française (approximately 240 hours, equivalent to a full A1, A2, B1, or B2 level) – valued at KES 90,500.
