Head of Compliance at NCBA Group

Job Purpose Statement

The purpose of this role is to provide leadership and direction of continuous independent oversight of the Kenya Compliance and Financial Crime Compliance teams. The role ensures continuous independent oversight of compliance to regulations, laws, policies and procedures as a key enabler to achieving the business objectives by NCBA Bank and the subsidiaries in Kenya.

Academic and Professional:

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Banking, Economics, Business Administration (with a major in Finance) or similar quantitative disciplines - Minimum Upper 2nd Class honors or 3.0 GPA.
• Relevant certifications in: CPA (K)/ACCA, ACI Certification, certification in Risk and/or Finance such as Financial Risk Manager (FRM), Professional Risk Manager (PRM) will be an advantage.

Desired work experience:

• At least 10 years of experience working in banking or Compliance.
• At least 5 years of experience at middle/senior level management within compliance, risk or assurance functions.
• Practical knowledge of regulatory compliance work and application in financial services industry.
• Practical knowledge of the Banking Act and CBK Prudential Guidelines, Insurance Act and regulations, CMA regulations and guidelines.
