Head of QA/QC at HCS Africa

Our client a leading property developer of residential communities in Kenya; seeks to recruit a head of QA/QC. He/she will be required to develop company-wide processes and controls to ensure quality requirements are met at all their projects.

Reports to: Chief Construction Officer and work closely with the Project Managers.

Responsibilities

Develop plans and procedures for all QA/QC programmes.

1. Implement QA/QC plans and procedures through the life of the projects.
2. Assists the Project Manager in developing an orientation programme to ensure that the project teams are familiar with the requirements of the Project Quality Plan.
3. Manage a team of QA/QC Supervisor on numbers of sites.
4. Actively participates and drive the recruitment of QA/QC inspectors.
5. Supervise QA/QC activities, including inspection and the collection of Quality Records.
6. Analyze all products and non-conformance processes and evaluate all documents to ensure the maintenance of optimal quality and prepare monthly reports to evaluate performance.
7. Ensures all QA/QC documentation is compiled and competed for as-built recording.
8. Ensure that the calibration of all inspection, measurement and test equipment are conducted according to the defined schedule.
9. Identify and develop solutions to correct inspection function deficiencies, including root cause analysis.
10. Supervise the quality inspections with the clients.

Skills and Qualifications

1. Degree in Civil Engineering from a reputable Institution or equivalent.
2. Previous experience in a similar role/environment.
3. Continuous improvement attitude.
4. Able to meet tight deadlines and schedules while maintaining quality, safety and profitability.
5. Advanced ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
6. Able to work within the project framework(s) and adhere to all Company guidelines and policies.
7. Good planning and organizational skills.
