Head of Technology Infrastructure at Old Mutual Kenya

Introduction

This role is responsible for delivery of a variety of IT services to support business objectives and is individually accountable for achieving results through others, over periods of 3 months to a year.

Minimum Requirements..

• First Degree in Information Technology/ Computer Sciences or equivalent.
• At least 7 years’ experience in a similar role, with leadership experience
• Working knowledge of Financial & Project management
   

Job Specification

• ICT infrastructure capacity planning
  • responsible for reviewing, conducting, continuously monitoring, reporting and forecasting of current (planning) IT infrastructure availability, performance and capacity
  • establishing a planning process for the review of performance and capacity of IT resources
  • reviewing current IT resources compute power and capacity
  • conducting IT resources performance and capacity forecasting
  • conducting gap analysis to identify IT resources mismatch
  • conducting contingency planning for potential IT resources unavailability
  • continuously monitoring and reporting the availability, performance and capacity of IT resources
  • creating and maintaining technology standards
  • designing and updating an enterprise infrastructure architecture
• Management of datacenter and network for the Group
  • implementing and maintaining technical and procedural controls to protect information flows across networks
  • maintenance of an appropriate datacenter environment which provides the required level of physical protection for the equipment and its operating environment
  • implementing appropriate monitoring of the infrastructure environment to provide the required availability
  • Defining and implementing procedures for appropriate maintenance of the infrastructure.
  • ensuring that the business is provided with the right level of access to technology resources commensurate with the needs
• Management of the Local and Wide area Network
  • Continuous review and redesign of the local and wide area network infrastructure to support secure unified communication;
  • Provide seamless access to data from and to Vendor networks
• Management of Infrastructure Security
  • Achieve required level of security as guided by the business risk appetite
  • Responsible for achieving required infrastructure security across the networks
  • Responsible for line 1 security for the networks and infrastructure platforms.
  • Achieve infrastructure resilience against Cyber-attacks and IT security risk of similar nature
  • Train and develop team member capability to improve skills and performance."
• Achievement of the set SLA for ICT infrastructure
  • Work with the Group leadership to determine, track and manage IT budgets.
  • Through consultation adhere and promote adoption and use of company standards and processes.
