Health Program Coordinator, Health Systems Strengthening-HSS at Equity Group Foundation

Description

The program coordinator shall be responsible for coordinating EGF partnerships generated from EGF health programs to strengthen health systems especially on capacity building, health leadership and governance. He/she shall:

• Support research and proposals for funding of EGF health opportunities within the building blocks of health systems including service delivery, health information systems and health products and technologies
• Coordinate partnerships with other health sector NGOs and programs
• Explore and mine opportunities in Health programs that can be implemented through Equity Afia to drive affordability in healthcare services
• Link Programs within the foundation with national and sub-national public health initiatives and Equity Afia network.
• Work closely with programs team in defining project scope and development of the work breakdown structure to enable project scheduling and decision making
• Closely watch the project schedule, monitoring project task deadlines. Report any potential delays to the project manager.
• Coordinating health projects to meet the project objectives within budget and the allotted period and report promptly any operational concerns.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities & program status throughout its life cycle & in applicable formats.
• Participate in health coordination meetings, internal & external trainings, and other working groups, representing EGF and feeding back on relevant issues.
• Actively support the program management in the development of new programs to support the strategic direction of EGF in the Health Sector.
• Work closely with Equity Group and leveraging on the bank infrastructure and network to ensure that health programs are implemented efficiently, effectively and with the intended impact and within budget.

Qualifications

• Degree in social sciences, public health, Health systems management or training in medical/ healthcare field
• MSC in public health or project management is added advantage
• Training in research methodologies/data analysis will be an added advantage
• Hands on experience with technical documentations and work schedules
• Knowledge of project management software -e.g., MS project.
• Prior experience in project coordination in health sector-based programs
