    Health Project Officer

    Job Purpose:

    To coordinate and provide technical, administrative, and program development support to the organization’s portfolio of health projects in Kenya. This portfolio includes several projects but the focus will be Malaria in Pregnancy (MIP) project. Oversee the daily implementation of the Malaria in Pregnancy project and ensure that project milestones are achieved and the project is implemented fully and in line with the Ministry of Health plan and regulations. Ensure the technical quality of field programs are in compliance with donor regulations and ead the training/mentorship at community level two of various cadres on Malaria In Pregnancy health program. Support health information dissemination through digital health platforms and offline channels. This role will be reporting directly to the Kenya Health Lead - Kasha.

    N.B: The project will run for a period of 5 months (March 2023 - July 2023). An assessment may form part of the selection process.

    Your Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for managing all aspects of the project cycle including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
    • Support in managing the Malaria in Pregnancy project, ensuring all activities in line with the contract is completed on time, to budget, and to the best of the ability of the Kasha team and other business-to-business (B2B) health projects.
    • Training of health care workers on malaria case management and malaria in pregnancy.
    • Lead in running health promotion campaigns regarding malaria in pregnancy prevention through the utilization of digital marketing, digital health tools, and offline channels.
    • Work closely with the pharma coordinator/ pharmacists and med reps to identify malaria prevention and treatment health products to market in the focus area.
    • Work closely with the Kasha agent coordinator to recruit Kasha agents who will support the implementation of the project such as door-to-door campaigns.
    • Ensure that the quality of the project is maintained through an effective monitoring system and that accurate data and information on best practices are documented.
    • Partially supporting Kasha family planning users using a digital platform and involved in improving the end-user journey.
    • Be the focal point for all partners of the project including the Ministry of Health.
    • Monitor project expenditures and ensure the budget is strictly adhered to, financial procedures are observed, and all supporting documents are provided.
    • Ensure project narrative reports are prepared and submitted on time using donor reporting requirements.
    • Any other duty that may be assigned to you from time to time.

    Role Requirements:

    • Master’s Degree, preferably in Public Health or equivalent.
    • Minimum of 5 years experience implementing international health programs with funding from USAID (especially on Malaria Control and HIV), Global Fund, or other donors.
    • Solid experience in conducting communication for development (C4D) projects.
    • Added advantage experience in health entrepreneurship projects.
    • Solid understanding of Malaria Case Management, Malaria in Pregnancy, HIV Prevention & Management, and the provision of contraceptives.
    • Experience in compiling, producing, and disseminating information.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Ability and willingness to travel within the country if required.
