    Healthcare Programme Intern

    Key roles and responsibilities:

    • Assist in preparing and reviewing ICHP work plans and budgets in collaboration with the Health team.
    • Participate in implementing community-based health activities that align with The Maa Trust's strategic goals.
    • Support monthly meetings with Community Health Promoters (CHPs) and review sessions for peer mentors. 
    • Contribute to the compilation of monthly and quarterly activity reports.
    • Provide logistical support for planning health-related forums and training events.
    • Monitor activity timelines to ensure the timely execution of program components.

    Stakeholder and Partnership Engagement

    • Facilitate communication and coordination with Community Health Promoters (CHPS), Community Health Volunteers (CHVs), local leaders, and partner organizations.
    • Participate in community meetings, women's forums, and youth dialogues.
    • Assist in organizing stakeholder meetings and feedback sessions.
    • Help develop collaborative relationships with local health facilities and government agencies.

    Capacity Building and Health Education

    • Participate in outreach events focused on sexual and reproductive health for youth, men, and women.
    • Help prepare educational materials and co-facilitate community learning sessions.
    • Advocate for positive health behaviors and the right to access sexual and reproductive health services during these outreach events.

    Other Duties

    • Perform additional tasks assigned by the Health Coordinator or Healthcare Manager as per program needs.
    • Support the WASH Coordinator by carrying out WASH activities when necessary.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • A diploma or bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing) in Public Health, Community Health, Development Studies, or a related field.
    • A passion for health promotion and community empowerment.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both English and Kiswahili (knowledge of Maa is an additional advantage).
    • Basic understanding of Adolescent and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (A/SRHR), WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), or safeguarding is desirable.
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within diverse teams.
    • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Kobo Collect or other data collection tools is a plus.
