    Data Management Intern

    Key roles and responsibilities:

    • Assist in updating data collection tools and templates (e.g., Excel-based trackers, KoboToolbox).
    • Support field data collection (surveys, FGDs, KIIs) using digital tools (e.g., KoBoToolbox).
    • Clean, code, validate, and enter data into databases (Excel, or SQL) and uploading data collected from field teams into TMT's central databases.
    • Organize and archive physical and digital data records of MEAL for easy retrieval and reference.
    • Assist in planning and executing Community engagement Forums

    Analysis & Visualization

    • Assist in analyzing quantitative/qualitative data using Excel, Power BI, or Stata.
    • Create dashboards and infographics to visualize program impact for reports using PowerBI and Microsoft SQL.
    • Contribute to the design and maintenance of dashboards and data visualization tools for internal reporting.
    • Participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual and donor reports through data aggregation and basic analysis.

    System Improvement

    • Identify and troubleshoot data quality issues.
    • Support routine and ad hoc data quality checks and verification processes.
    • Propose improvements to data storage and management processes.
    • Participate in DMEAL team trainings on data tools and best practices.
    • Provide logistical and documentation support during training, learning sessions, and field data collection exercises. f) Ensure data security and confidentiality protocols are followed.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the MEAL and Grants manager.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, Social Sciences, Computer Science, or a related field. b) Should be recent graduates within the last two years
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level required); knowledge of data analysis or visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, SPSS, Stata, R) is an added advantage.
    • Familiarity with mobile data collection platforms such as SurveyCTO, ODK, or KoboToolbox.
    • Strong organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Kiswahili and Maa is a plus.
    • Passion for community development, conservation, and social impact work.
    • Experience with GIS mapping (ArcGIS, QGIS) or SQL databases.

    Maa Beadwork Intern

    Maa Bead-Work Production Manager One Year (June 2026-May 2027)

    Maa Beadwork is seeking a creative and detail-oriented intern to support product design, digital presence, and marketing materials. The intern will assist in developing visual assets including catalogues, lookbooks, and product documentation, as well as supporting the revamp and updating of the Maa Beadwork website.

    The role will also support the creation of structured product information, ensuring all beadwork products are well-documented, visually presented, and aligned with market and branding needs.

    Key roles and responsibilities:

    • Support product development and design processes, including concept development, documentation, and refinement of collections
    • Assist in the design and development of catalogues, lookbooks, and marketing materials
    • Support the revamp and regular updating of the Maa Beadwork website (products, collections, content)
    • Create and maintain product cards with images, descriptions, materials, techniques, and pricing
    • Photograph finished products and format images for digital and print use
    • Organize and maintain a digital library of product images and assets
    • Update and maintain artisan records and product labeling systems
    • Support branding and visual storytelling across platforms (social media, presentations, etc.)
    • Assist in other Maa Beadwork activities as needed

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Demonstrated aptitude for product development and design (academic background, portfolio, or practical experience)
    • Basic to intermediate skills in graphic design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or similar) c) Strong computer literacy (Excel, Word, Google Workspace)
    • Interest in digital marketing, design, or e-commerce
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to organize information clearly
    • Basic photography and image editing skills are an added advantage g) Interest in or appreciation of Maasai beadwork and craftsmanship h) Fluency in Maa (spoken) is an added advantage

    Healthcare Programme Intern

    Key roles and responsibilities:

    • Assist in preparing and reviewing ICHP work plans and budgets in collaboration with the Health team.
    • Participate in implementing community-based health activities that align with The Maa Trust's strategic goals.
    • Support monthly meetings with Community Health Promoters (CHPs) and review sessions for peer mentors. 
    • Contribute to the compilation of monthly and quarterly activity reports.
    • Provide logistical support for planning health-related forums and training events.
    • Monitor activity timelines to ensure the timely execution of program components.

    Stakeholder and Partnership Engagement

    • Facilitate communication and coordination with Community Health Promoters (CHPS), Community Health Volunteers (CHVs), local leaders, and partner organizations.
    • Participate in community meetings, women's forums, and youth dialogues.
    • Assist in organizing stakeholder meetings and feedback sessions.
    • Help develop collaborative relationships with local health facilities and government agencies.

    Capacity Building and Health Education

    • Participate in outreach events focused on sexual and reproductive health for youth, men, and women.
    • Help prepare educational materials and co-facilitate community learning sessions.
    • Advocate for positive health behaviors and the right to access sexual and reproductive health services during these outreach events.

    Other Duties

    • Perform additional tasks assigned by the Health Coordinator or Healthcare Manager as per program needs.
    • Support the WASH Coordinator by carrying out WASH activities when necessary.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • A diploma or bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing) in Public Health, Community Health, Development Studies, or a related field.
    • A passion for health promotion and community empowerment.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both English and Kiswahili (knowledge of Maa is an additional advantage).
    • Basic understanding of Adolescent and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (A/SRHR), WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), or safeguarding is desirable.
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within diverse teams.
    • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Kobo Collect or other data collection tools is a plus.

    Site Management Intern

    Key roles and responsibilities:

    • Assist with the supervision and coordination of day-to-day groundwork, including landscaping, drainage, and cleanliness.
    • Perform basic carpentry tasks such as furniture repairs, fittings, and wooden structures maintenance.
    • Conduct routine maintenance checks and minor repairs of office and site equipment (e.g., doors, windows, shelves, and fixtures).
    • Report maintenance issues and follow up on corrective actions.
    • Support in tracking site materials, tools, and consumables inventory.
    • Assist in ensuring compliance with safety procedures and cleanliness across the site.
    • Provide logistical support during internal site meetings or repairs.

    Microfinance Intern

    Key roles and responsibilities:
    Programme and Project Design and Planning

    • Support in development of microfinance workplans, activity schedules, and budgets.
    • Assist in conducting assessments to identify financial access gaps within microfinance groups and business members.
    • Help coordinate the formation and strengthening of savings, table banking, and self-help groups to promote financial inclusion.
    • Support the delivery of financial literacy and basic financial management training to community groups.
    • Assist in integrating microfinance activities with entrepreneurship and economic empowerment programmes.
    • Facilitate community mobilisation and outreach to increase participation in microfinance initiatives
    • Work with programme staff to ensure activities align with organisational strategy and targets.
    • Support the implementation of group activities, including meetings, savings tracking, and loan processes.
    • Assist in developing and using simple monitoring tools to track group performance, savings, and loan repayment.

    Technical programme and project management

    • Guided by the Socio-Economic empowerment coordinator, conduct day-to-day implementation of microfinance project initiatives, including attending quarterly microfinance check-ins, training sessions, and coaching support. b) Assist the socio-economic empowerment coordinator in strengthening the capacity of group members in record keeping, financial discipline, and transparent group management practices.
    • Assist in the coordination and supervision of microfinance extension services and coaches to ensure effective delivery of programme activities and consistent support to groups.
    • Assist microfinance groups with applying with loans and grants from identified institutions.
    • Monitor and track the performance of supported groups, including savings loans disbursement and repayment rates. f) Compile and submit timely reports on programme activities, key achievements, and lessons learned to the Socio- Economic Empowerment Manager.
    • Identify underperforming groups and curate design targeted interventions, mentorships, and capacity building support to improve sustainability.
    • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, financial procedures, and microfinance best practices across all programme activities.

    Stakeholders Management and External Engagements

    • Support building and maintaining relationships with community leaders, financial institutions, and development partners supporting financial inclusion initiatives.

    Qualifications:

    • Diploma in Community Development, Finance, Economics, Development Studies, a degree is an added advantage b) Basic understanding of microfinance concepts.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills for working with communities.
    • Basic computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Strong interest in community development and financial inclusion programmes
    • Demonstrate patience and respect when working with women's groups, including members with varying levels of literacy, to ensure clear and supportive communication
