    Hospital Patient Porter III

    Job Summary

     

    An officer at this level will be responsible to the Assistant Chief Nurse and Catering
    Manager respectively, in the area of deployment for the welfare of patients.

    Qualification and Experience

    • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Mean Grade D+ (plus) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
    • Training in life-saving skills support (Nurse Aid, First AI or Home Based Care.
    • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya,2010.

    Responsibilities

    • Organizing and ferrying patients /food from one point to another.
    • Escorting stable patients to diagnostic service point (X-Ray, Laboratory)
    • Ensuring safety of patients/food while on transit.
    • Cleaning stretchers, wheelchairs/food portering equipment, and other tools oftrade.
    • Safekeeping of stretchers and other equipment in storage bays.
    • Reporting any defects on tools of trade to the Administrative Officers in-charge.
    • Exchanging empty oxygen cylinders with full cylinders from oxygen plant.
    • Booking of patients for specific examination (CT Scan, Radiotherapy, X-Ray
