    Information Communications Technology Officer (Enterprise Resource Planning Systems Support)

    The duties and responsibilities of the officer entail:-

    • Developing documentation of computer programs according to instructions and specifications;
    • Installing and configuring computer systems and solutions;
    • Maintaining application systems;
    • Provide 1st level support for ERP and related systems’;
    • Raise relevant issues to 2nd level support;
    • Manage workflow approval rules for ERP and related systems;
    • Providing expert end user support and training users on effective and efficient use of ICT facilities;
    • Maintaining up to date equipment register;
    • Assist in preparing and conducting security reviews;
    • Apply approved access requests;
    • Keeping track of all incidents and produce reports from Service Portal on resolution;
    • Installing, configuring and monitoring Local Area Network components;
    • Administering and managing users in the Active Directory, e-mail server and User applications;
    • Updating ICT equipment register and issuance register;
    • Investigate data quality issues according to the defined data rules on specific data sets as requested;
    • Monitor services and system notifications and raise issues to an appropriate level when needed;
    • Provide user training where required and update training documentation or materials;
    • Execute various quality control tests related to software changes (bug fixes and improvements);
    • Help organize, run and document meetings;
    • Maintaining the Institute’s website; and
    • Ensuring Business continuity by performing regular data and application backups.

    Requirements for Appointment/Person Specification

    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -

    • Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields: Information Technology, Computer Science, Business with IT, Software Engineering, ICT Project Management, Computer Engineering or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution;
    • At least 3 years’ experience in supporting end users in using core business applications such as financial, procurement, Human Resource and Administration or ERP systems (such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Oracle, SAP, etc) is an added advantage;
    • Minimum KCSE C+ (plus) or its equivalent; and
    • Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

    Key Competencies and skills

    • Good knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and other ERP Systems (such as Oracle, SAP, etc);
    • Good communication skills;
    • Programming skills;
    • Knowledge in supporting and maintaining Database systems;
    • Strong problem analysis and problem solving skills;
    • Well organized with strong data management and maintenance skills, including data quality analysis;
    • Good interpersonal skills; and
    • Knowledge of managing recent Windows operating systems.

    • Clearance from recognized Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
