Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -
- Supporting the implementation of internal audit policies, procedures and basic auditing standards;
- Assisting in conducting risk-based, compliance and systems audits under supervision;
- Assisting in verify the existence of Authority assets and checking basic safeguards for protection;
- Supporting the review of accounting reports for correctness and accuracy;
- Assisting in ensuring Authority's compliance with internal policies and government guidelines;
- Contributing to the preparation of audit reports and documentation of findings;
- Supporting monitoring and evaluation of internal controls on financial systems;
- Assisting in evaluating adequacy of information available for management decision-making;
- Participating in assess basic governance mechanisms and transparency processes;
- Supporting implementation of internal audit recommendations and corrective actions; and
- Assisting in providing secretariat services to audit committees.
Job Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -
- Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields: - Finance, Accounting, Commerce (Finance/ Accounting option), Business Administration (Finance option/Accounting), Business Management (Finance/Accounting option) or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
- Certified Public Accountants Part II or equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited institution; and
- Proficiency in computer applications.

Successful candidates MUST satisfy the requirements of Leadership and Integrity set out in Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and shall be required to present the following documents before the offer letter.
- Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (TCC);
- Certificate of clearance from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB);
- Certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI);
- Dully filled and stamped Self-Declaration/Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC); and
- Clearance certificate from approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
